Converteo stands out for its commitment to the training of its teams. In this exclusive interview, Charlotte Poulain, Senior Manager and training referent for the Analytics & Conversion practice, shares Converteo’s recipe for the continuous development of our consultants’ skills.

The strength of the collective in a constantly evolving sector

“Having operational consultants who can deliver quality services to our clients, in line with current events, drives us to place training at the heart of our strategy,” explains Charlotte. “A relevant training strategy is a thoughtful, agile, and reactive strategy.”

Vision and coordination are the key words. As the conductor, Charlotte ensures that all consultants in the Analytics & Conversion practice have the necessary tools: whether it’s ongoing topics or hot issues, she provides a vision aligned with our clients’ needs.

The sector is in constant motion, and maintaining the relevance of our training is a real challenge. In addition to our recurring “REX” (feedback) sessions, continuous training takes on a variety of formats within the practice:

  • At the core of the Analytics & Conversion training strategy are the “expertise communities.” There are two such communities, each led by managers and a technical leader responsible for animation and defining topics. The process is simple: an identified hot topic = a group of consultants mobilized. Each month, a large gathering is organized to review the topics worked on. The generated content is carefully preserved and referenced, thus feeding the collective dynamic. Charlotte concludes, “The impact is strong and radiates throughout the practice, while managing the consultants’ workload.”
  • Internal bootcamps, dedicated to critical themes, stand out for their ability to make each consultant operational on demand. Charlotte illustrates this with a concrete example: “Last summer, we identified a need for skill enhancement within our teams regarding server-side technologies, as client demand in this area was increasing. It became imperative for us to widely disseminate the state of the art knowledge and our technical positions in this field. We organized an intensive bootcamp for a small number of our consultants whose backgrounds had not previously involved this topic. It was a great success, as everyone was able to apply the knowledge gained directly in missions with our clients, immediately after the bootcamp.”
  • A weekly meeting on Fridays! For 2 hours every Friday, a topic is explored in depth, depending on current events.
  • All of this is centralized in a wiki, similar to an internal intranet, which consolidates all of our knowledge, with a dedicated page for each expertise or tool. “We must not lose a single bit of it!”

A consultant, a journey

After a fundamental general foundation covering all of Converteo’s expertise through our “Converteo School,” each training path is co-constructed individually between a technical lead and the consultant. “It’s a true personalized journey that takes into account their aspirations, their desire for growth, and the needs of our clients,” emphasizes Charlotte.

Consultants are carefully guided throughout their careers. This precise support allows us to address the specific needs of consultants and offer the most suitable training paths. Charlotte elaborates: “Upon each consultant’s arrival, a tracking sheet is created in a dashboard, evolving over time to record training sessions, areas of expertise, certifications, modules completed on our e-learning platform, and bootcamps attended, thus providing a comprehensive and exhaustive overview of their skills. This serves as the basis for directing and shaping their journey.”

“2024 is shaping up to be a year of adaptation in light of particularly dense news on our topics... a turning point not to be missed!"

Charlotte Poulain, Senior Manager

Charlotte unveils the four strategic orientations identified as major for 2024, on which the Analytics & Conversion practice will focus its training efforts:

In terms of pedagogical approach, Converteo aims to continue offering the most dynamic learning environments possible by integrating interactive elements to stimulate engagement and promote a deep understanding.

And Charlotte concludes: “The challenge in 2024 will be to train teams capable of navigating the turbulent landscape of data management, leveraging the opportunities offered by data while ensuring responsible and ethical mastery. It is this complexity and uncertainty that drives me daily!”

At Converteo, training is not just a simple corporate policy; it is a dynamic culture at the heart of our organization. It is much more than a series of planned initiatives; it is a decentralized culture nourished by the constant sharing of information and ongoing monitoring. Every member contributes to the continuous enrichment of their knowledge. This co-constructed approach fosters not only skill acquisition but also a collaborative culture where everyone plays an active role in their own development and that of the entire team.
